LAUNCHED IN 2004, THE JUNK REMOVAL BIZ HAS BOOMED AND IS AIMING TO TAKE ON BIGGER RIVALS

It didn’t take long for Josh Cohen to realize that other people’s trash could be his treasure.The 3-year-old Manhattan resident launched his business, The Junkluggers, in 2004 while still in college after hearing that a pal made $100 hauling away a neighbor’s refrigerator.

The summer between his junior and senior years, he printed up flyers on his parents’ computer offering to tote away unwanted items for a fee and began stuffing them in mailboxes around his Connecticut hometown.
