What will a junk removal company haul away?
Updated: November 6, 2026
Most junk removal companies haul away non-hazardous household and business items such as furniture, mattresses, appliances, electronics, exercise equipment, yard debris, and renovation debris. Hazardous or regulated materials need a separate disposal route.
For most home cleanouts, just about everything that homeowners have trouble moving on their own can be taken by a junk removal company. That includes sofas and tables, bed frames, shelves, old TVs, big boxes, and all kinds of clutter. Appliances and exercise equipment are common too. This is also true for businesses which can have office furniture, shelving, displays, and equipment taken away as part of commercial junk removal.
If you have construction debris or yard waste, that’s often fair game too. It’s still worth asking about the specific load. Dense materials like concrete, brick, masonry, shingles, soil, and tile can often only be packed about a foot deep in the truck. Pricing is still based on how much space the items take up in the truck, but the truck can "fill up" quicker when loaded with heavy materials like these. Even so, you'll have a binding estimate upfront before you commit.
That doesn’t mean everything can be hauled away, though. Hazmat needs to go through separate channels, and that often means fuels, chemicals, wet paint, asbestos, and medical waste. Equipment with fuel or fluids needs to be drained first. If you have an unusual item, mention it before the appointment. The crew can tell you whether it belongs in the normal load or needs another route.
The Junkluggers of Placer County handles the lifting, loading, and hauling for accepted items. After pickup, collected material is sorted. Usable items are donated when possible. When not, we recycle everything we can. For most everyday cleanouts, you won’t even need to take anything to the curb. Full-service means the crew picks it up for you.
This includes cleanout projects in Roseville and Rocklin.
