Cubicles are bolted together on-site when they’re installed, so in order to remove them, they need to be taken apart. You can often sell large, matched sets to liquidators and donate what’s in good shape. Then a commercial crew like The Junkluggers can disassemble and haul away all the rest. Cubicles look like one thing when they’re put together, but they’re not. They’re made up of panels, brackets, work surfaces ...
If you try to sell or give away a couch and you live in a walk-up, your options are limited. You can either have the taker haul it down, cut apart the furniture yourself, or you can hire a crew like The Junkluggers to take care of the work for you. If you have an old couch that you’re trying to get rid of, that can be very hard to do if you live ...
If you’re thinking about booking commercial junk removal in Brooklyn, you probably want to know what the process looks like. Once you make a call, you’ll receive an estimate. Then the crew will work with your building to handle access requirements. On the day of junk removal, they’ll then clear out the space in one scheduled visit. If that sounds simple, it’s because it is. Much of the trouble with commercial ...
With commercial leases, broom clean condition means that you are required to remove all personal property and customizations from the property. You must return the space to a neutral, ready-to-lease state, repairing any damage beyond normal wear. "Broom clean condition" is one of the most common clauses in commercial leases. It is also one of the most disputed. In a commercial context, it goes well beyond what it sounds like: a quick sweep. Tenants are ...
Something big is happening on the Upper West Side that most junk removal companies don’t talk about. There is a generation of long-term residents who are transitioning out of apartments where they have lived for decades. The cleanouts that follow from these transitions are unlike anything else in the rest of the city. If you are a family member helping an elderly parent move, or an executor handling an estate, understanding why these jobs ...
Give your facility your move-out notice, then have a junk removal crew empty it for you. They can sort the contents for donation and recycling and leave it broom-clean so you can cancel the contract and stop paying the monthly bill. Most Manhattan storage units start as a temporary fix. You rent one for a move or a renovation, or after inheriting an estate. They quietly turn into a $200 to $400 monthly expense that ...
You can’t just drop off bulk garbage on the street in Brooklyn. This is a good thing because the city wouldn’t be very enjoyable if you could, but that doesn’t mean it’s convenient when you have things that need to go. The city’s sanitation rules have shifted a lot in recent years, so many residents are still playing catch-up. So before you drag a mattress to the curb and cross ...

If you are looking for a way to have a positive environmental impact, choosing a reputable junk removal company is one of the best things you can do. When haulers pick up junk, there are two general ways things ...
Before hiring a junk removal service, confirm their pricing structure, insurance coverage, disposal methods, and ability to access your building. Always ask for an on-site estimate. Junk removal is a lot of work, but the process itself is straightforward. For that reason, a few good questions upfront can tell you nearly everything you need to know about a junk removal company before you book. Ask these questions and you can avoid regret. Start by asking ...

An estate cleanout is hard no matter where you live. But doing one in New York City is harder because of the logistics. These logistics often catch families off guard. There are building rules and tight spaces. The city has a lot of disposal laws. The process rarely goes how people expect. And in the midst of the estate cleanout, you have to go through a lot of belongings, many emotionally charged, and figure out ...
Real estate in New York City is expensive. So while clutter is an eyesore, it’s also so much more than that. Every unused item takes up space. And you’re already paying a premium. Even having said that, when the whole place feels crowded at once, the idea of fixing it can make you freeze in place. The trick is to make the job small enough to where it never tips into being overwhelming ...
Moving is hard enough as it is. But it’s extra hard in New York City. Every building and street seems to have its own rules, and you can’t always count on easy access to an elevator big enough to move large items. Every city move has a dozen moving parts, most of which have nothing to do with packing a box. And it’s easy to forget those rules until they’re causing ...
Yes, though the list is short. A New York City junk removal company will take almost any non-hazardous household or commercial item, while hazardous materials like paint, chemicals, fuels, and propane tanks fall outside what a crew can legally haul. A rule of living: it’s easier to accumulate stuff than it is to get rid of it. This is true in the suburbs and the rural places of the country, too, but it’s ...
In most cases yes, but only on your collection day and within the city's rules. New York's sanitation department collects large household furniture as bulk trash, yet items with electronics or refrigerants need separate handling, and putting things out at the wrong time can earn you a fine. Surprising but true: you can leave furniture on the curb in New York City. There are just a lot of rules from the Department of ...
“Eco-friendly junk removal company” is an easy phrase to use, and a hard one to prove. It seems like every company operating in New York City claims to be eco-friendly, and it shows up on every website and truck wrap. But what does “green disposal” mean in practice? One common answer: recycling the obvious. Items like metal or cardboard are sent to a recycling center, and the rest—being the vast majority—is sent to ...
Getting rid of furniture in New York City is not exactly simple. You can’t drag it to the curb and walk away. NYC has specific rules of what can and can’t go on the sidewalk, as well as when it can go out and how it needs to be prepared. If you are unaware of the rules (or ignore them), you risk a fine from the Department of Sanitation. But if you follow ...
Yes, the Junkluggers of New York City provide same-day and next-day junk removal appointments across all five boroughs, including Manhattan, Brooklyn, the Bronx, Queens, and Staten Island. Sometimes, you need to clear up space quickly. And that’s not always easy to do, especially if you have a lot of items. It’s also frustrating that New York City isn’t exactly the kind of place where you can load up a pick-up truck and ...
Usually no, and if a company is charging you per item, you may be paying more than you need to. Most professional junk removal services price by volume. That means the cost is based on how much space your items take up on the truck rather than a flat rate per piece. This is how The Junkluggers of New York City handles pricing, and it usually works in the homeowner’s favor. You might be ...
