How do you get rid of everything left after an estate sale?

After the estate sale is over, set aside anything the family still wants to keep. Then use an estate cleanout crew for the rest of the house so it can be emptied and broom-clean before the deadline.

Estate sales can remove a large share of the home’s contents, but they don’t always leave the property empty. Furniture sometimes fails to sell and various ordinary household items might remain. Some items might need to stay in the home, temporarily, until the family can take them to their ultimate destination. So even after the estate sale is complete, the family may be left with a smaller pile than before, but a larger pile than can be handled easily.

The first step is to set aside anything that shouldn’t leave the property. That includes documents, photographs, valuables, keepsakes, and items promised to relatives. It helps to put these in one clearly marked room or area first before the junk removal crew arrives.

Then decide whether there is time to keep selling or giving away items individually. If the home is to be sold or handed over soon, you may not be able to wait as long as you need to do that. A professional estate cleanout can take care of it all in one go.

The Junkluggers can carry items out from anywhere on the property, including basements and attics. After pickup, items are sorted so usable belongings are donated when possible. When that’s not possible, recycling is the next option. Items that cannot be donated or recycled are responsibly disposed of.

A cleanout crew is particularly useful when the remaining problem is not deciding what the family wants, but doing the physical work of emptying the house. That includes lifting, carrying, loading, and hauling.
