The Junkluggers of Chicago NW Suburbs owner, Robert Schmitt
About The Owner
Robert Schmitt was born in Germany but raised in Elgin, Illinois, alongside his wife Jane whom he met back in high school. Both Robert and Jane attended the University of Illinois for college and have lived in Elgin for the past 18 years with their two children Sarah and Jake, and three dogs Fritz, Wolfgang, and Felix. Jane works as a substitute teacher and a homemaker, while Robert was a Senior Vice President of Infrastructure and Operations at Donnelley Financial Solutions.
Robert was drawn to The Junkluggers because our culture embodies strong commitment and family values, which is a unique aspect to have within a business. Robert has the unique opportunity to make a difference within his community through something as simple as junk removal. He recognizes the importance of eco-friendly options and wants to provide people with a new solution to disposing of unwanted items, that also makes a positive impact on their environment.
Outside of work, Robert manages a 5 team travel softball organization called Elgin Impact, which is a nonprofit group that he started 5 years ago. He also is a head coach of the 18U team and loves to help athletes achieve their goals and prepare them for the next level of the game.
