How do you get rid of a hot tub you don't use anymore?

Your options are selling or giving it away if it still works, trading it in when you buy a new one, or hiring a junk removal service to dismantle and haul it away. That last option is usually the fastest, since most garbage services and donation programs will not take a hot tub.

Being in a hot tub is relaxing. Getting rid of one is certainly not. They’re heavy, and they’re often wired and plumbed into place. And you’re not exactly going to be able to drop it off curbside and hope the metal arms of your friendly local trash truck will pick it up and drop it in.

If the tub still runs, selling it or giving it away is worth a try, though you will usually need the buyer to arrange the removal, which is the part most people balk at. Trading it in can work if you are buying a replacement and the dealer offers haul-away. When the tub is old, broken, or you simply want the space back, hiring a junk removal service is the fastest path. Garbage services and donation programs will generally not accept them.

The Junkluggers of North Puget Sound can handle the full hot tub removal process for you. The crew will first disconnect the unit from the plumbing and electrical. Then each individual piece is hauled off the deck. With rare exceptions, this can be handled in just one visit.

You’ll be able to see a written on-site estimate which you can approve before any work starts. We sort the materials so metal and other recyclables are kept out of the landfill wherever possible. Whether your tub sits on a back patio in Snohomish or a deck in Marysville, you can have the space cleared without lifting a wrench.

Ready to clear outdoor space? You can schedule your hot tub pickup online. The Junkluggers of North Puget Sound serves Everett, Marysville, Lake Stevens, Snohomish, Stanwood, Mukilteo, and Bothell.
