Friends In Deed has been around for a while. For over 35 years, we've worked to help our neighbors in need by filling in the cracks of assistance offered by other organizations and nonprofits in the community. In recent years, we expanded our focus. While we still have two program areas that help stabilize families in crisis, we now have a third program that focuses on building community to end poverty:
Our Direct Assistance Program helps families prevent utility shut off, repair a car to get to work or medical appointments, obtain a prescription or other one-time medical need and more.
Our Furniture Program helps families obtain basic-needs furniture, including beds, kitchen tables and chairs, couches, etc.
Our Circles Program focuses on helping families to lift themselves out of poverty.
Goodwill
Goodwill is dedicated to enhancing the dignity and quality of life of families and individuals by eliminating barriers to opportunity and strengthening communities. They also work to help people reach their full potential by teaching them the power of work. You will spot our bright green trucks making regular donations.

HouseN2Home
We are a group of volunteers from southeast Michigan who help to provide furnishings for people in our area who are moving out of homeless shelters and into rental housing. We began in 2017 as a small group of friends working together to furnish a home for one single mom and her children.
Inspired by that experience, and by the need in our community, we have grown to over fifty volunteers and have completely furnished the homes of 127 families coming out of shelters in Washtenaw County as of 11/13/2020.
Salvation Army of Livonia
The Junkluggers primarily work with the Salvation Army Family Stores, which form the core of their Adult Rehabilitation Center philosophy, providing quality clothing, furniture, and goods at bargain prices-which in turn supports their mission of employing rehabilitating adults and funding their Adult Centers.
