About Amy van Arsdale

Amy’s need for clearing and organizing began back in 2005, when she and her family (four small children and two large labrador retrievers) started to rent out their home each summer in Westport, CT. This is when she learned about the beauty and ease of an organized lifestyle. Every closet, cupboard, bedroom and personal item had to be removed and stored away neatly in their attic. After that summer, she only brought back what her family needed, loved, and used from the attic. “I noticed that the kids were not missing some toys, clothes, and knickknacks… We started living with less. With each summer, our home became more spacious and airy, more like a haven.” In 2008 Cleared Spaces was founded and Amy and her team have been clearing space in homes all across Fairfield County ever since.

The idea of living a simplified, uncluttered life with less stuff sounds attractive to many. They dream of the benefits of owning fewer possessions: less to clean, less debt, less to organize, less stress, but more importantly, more space and energy for their greatest passions. They think they are ready to de-clutter, but the very next question quickly trips some up, “where in the world do I begin?”
