Recycling and Trash Removal: Passive Philanthropy

At The Junkluggers we realize that one’s junk may be another’s treasure… but, there are instances where we are unfortunately unable to donate on your behalf. What then happens to the items? Where do they go? In many instances, we are able to recycle your contents, so that although there is no direct tax benefit to you, you can rest assured that you’re not contributing to increased pollution and waste.

Recyclable materials include, but are not limited to, a variety of glass, plastic, textiles, paper, metal, and even more complex items such as electronics that can be stripped apart to reveal components for reuse. In many ways, recycling is just as philanthropic as direct donations because your items are converted into usable materials that help reduce the environmental footprint caused when fresh resources are harvested for new products. So, next time you’re out buying something new, it may be interesting to consider that perhaps you’re being revisited by a favorite item from the past.
