Chief Executive Officer
As our company founder and CEO, Josh is the heart and soul of The Junkluggers. He started The Junkluggers when he was 21 with his mother’s Dodge Durango in Fairfield, CT, and has since grown the company into a multi-state, multi-franchised operation. He utilized his degree from the University of Connecticut in Business Administration and his ambition, passion for the environment, marketing savvy, and interest in building a strong company culture to help elevate the company to the level it is at today. Josh began with a firm vision of what he wanted The Junkluggers to become and has seen it through every step of the way, never looking back.
Josh is an active member in several business organizations within New York City, including the Entrepreneurs’ Organization, a global business network of 8,000+ business owners, and Vistage, a network of over 15,000 executives that offers peer advisory boards and professional coaching to aide in company growth and advancement.
In his personal life, Josh enjoys spending time with his wife, friends and family, and his dog, Otis. He loves to travel, and is also an avid hiker and basketball player.
Josh is Finance Manager of The Junkluggers. His responsibilities include financial and cash management, budgetary planning, and accounting services. In addition, Josh is responsible for financial reporting and compliance.
Josh joined The Junkluggers in December 2010. Prior to The Junkluggers, Josh was a senior associate with Ernst & Young. A Certified Public Accountant, Josh earned his undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Washington.
Josh hails from Seattle, Washington, but has lived in New York City for the past six years. Despite his relocation, he is still a Pacific Northwester at heart, with a true love for hiking and the great outdoors. Josh is a regular jet-setter—flying around the country (and the world), often to see his favorite bands in concert or just to scope out a new adventure.
Director of Operations
Zak is our Director of Operations. He ensures that everything is done right from the very first phone call. Zak values top-notch customer service above all else and is a natural fit for this role. Prior to joining The Junkluggers, Zak gained valuable experience in the Licensing and Business Development industry for both Godiva Chocolatier and Photo File Inc. Zak plays a significant role in our day-to-day schedule maintenance and is the lead on all estimates and job follow-ups, ensuring that every customer is treated with the highest level of service.
Zak was born and raised in Dobbs Ferry, NY – a small town that happens to be located in our Westchester territory. He ventured up to the University of Vermont to study Business Administration, and soon after returned to the tri-state area, settling in New Jersey with his wife Kirsten, newborn son Aiden, and dog Tango. If he is not spending time with his family, Zak can be caught regularly following his favorite teams in basketball, baseball, football, and…well, just about any other sport.
Chief Canine Officer
A sweet ten-year old, Otis hails from Atlanta. Though he has a commanding presence and photographs like a full-sized labrador, he actually tips the scale at just thirty pounds. In case you were wondering, he is, in fact, half lab and half beagle. Eight years ago, he was adopted into The Junkluggers family, and it was love at first sight. His other loves include milk bones and hiking, but strangely he dislikes puppies. He is an invaluable member of our team and brings extra happiness, hair, and his fabulous mellow personality to our Junkluggers headquarters.
