The Junkluggers take great pride and are highly devoted to donating and recycling as much as possible. We are constantly looking for new charitable causes and donation centers, as well as recycling centers for the many different materials we lug away each day.
When I founded this company, I quickly recognized the truth in the saying "one persons junk is another persons treasure". After filling up my parent's basement and garage with stuff that I thought I would use one day, I decided there are many other people out there who could really benefit from these items, right now! I began to research different charitable donation centers where different items can be accepted and distributed appropriately. For instance, I discovered that different Goodwill locations accepted different items such as clothing or books, and Habitat for Humanity made great use of pre-owned appliances and renovation material. This is why sorting junk before loading into our trucks is key to the unloading and donation process. We also mail back any tax deductible receipts for our customer's, as an added value and incentive. The Junkluggers is ALWAYS open to learning about new donation center's to add to our list as well, so keep suggestions coming!
Often people ask: "do you keep anything that is good?". Yes. But not for long. We have recently opened up our very own sorting and distribution warehouse. It is very small, but it does the job for now. Amongst many of the uses of our small new home, we also sell certain valuables, however, the proceeds from our sales go directly to supporting local community centers and charitable donations. We are happy to take requests from those customer's we haul stuff away from, but as you might imagine, we have a long list of recipients we are excited to help out.
Plastics, metals, rubber, glass, paper and cardboard are amongst many of the common items we are able to recycle at various recycling center's. I refuse to be another one of those junk/garbage removal companies that pollutes the earth by mixing the many different materials that can be re-used. While it takes a lot more effort and labor, staying "GREEN" is at the core of The Junkluggers philosophy and mission statement. We are extremely familiar with a wide range of charitable organizations and different types of recycling center's, and we are always open to learning about more!
